
The Charles Schulz Snoopy roll from Comic-Con 1974

Artist Matt Lorentz (who co-produced the AfterCon art show to benefit the Shel Dorf New Talent Encouragement Fund during Comic-Con 2010) just sent us the above picture. Here’s what he wrote about it:
Hi Mike, I ran across this photo today. Shel gave it to me a while back. It’s from the 1974 San Diego Comic-Con. If I remember right, it’s from a Comic-Con dinner. Shel said a fan didn’t have a sheet of paper at the time, so they asked Charles Schulz if he wouldn’t mind signing the roll….
Did you ever hear stories of that bread roll? Shel enlarged a copy of that photo and laminated it for me. He wrote “1974 San Diego Comic Con” on the back of the print.
